"My primary concern has always been respect for my craft, which is not exactly an art, but which depends on an artist for its existence."
I was lucky enough to travel to Paris this past week just in time for the Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective at the Petit Palais. His death about two years ago shocked the fashion industry. This retrospective of the designer’s work is sure to please all who appreciated and respected the French designer’s body of work throughout the past forty years.
The extremely strict security at the museum forbade me to capture any of my own images. I understand and respect the actions taken to preserve the designs from any type of damage.
Just bought the official exhibition book ... 400 pages full of YSL
I found the room with all the couture gowns the most memorable. It was truly breath taking; I merely sat in amazement gazing at the collection. Each design encompassed a story, a decade, and the YSL touch. As a designer, I understand the heart that goes into the entire design process. YSL’s accomplishment with this retrospective made me realize the importance of fashion in the world.
If you are fortunate enough to live in France, you must attend this amazing retrospective. If you have the possibility to find your way to the streets of Paris, do not miss this fashion event! If you are hopeless then simply click on the link and experience YSL online at
